Fund for Global Human Rights

Provides emergency grants of up to $10,000 for HRDs.  The funds can cover security (both preventive measures and emergency response), an urgent project, medical costs, psychosocial support, relocation and legal costs. Agir Ensemble pour les Droits de L’Homme (AEDH) (Working Together for Human Rights)Emergency Fund

It provides shelter and other support to human rights defenders (HRDs) in great danger.  The Fund is, for example, used for emergency evacuation to shelter in Lyon and for temporary relocation of HRDs in their country/sub-region but can also be used for other responses such as providing HRDs with legal or medical assistance or other support in their country and/or region. HRDs are identified through local NGOs and international NGOs such as Amnesty International, Front Line Defenders, FIDH, Protection International, Human Rights Watch and Christian Aid.


European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) - Small Grant for HRDs at Risk

The emergency fund for human rights defenders at risk provides direct small grants of up to 10.000 euros to human rights defenders – both individuals and organisations - who are in need of urgent support, which may take any form considered necessary, for example to cover the fees for the legal representation of defenders, to cover medical expenses, emergency funding for organizations in financial difficulties etc.
